MSc Clinical Neuropsychology

The MSc (MedSci) in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Glasgow is tailored for individuals eligible for registration with the UK's Health and Care Professions Council as clinical psychologists. Developed in collaboration with NHS Education for Scotland, the program provides specialized knowledge for clinical psychologists and other healthcare professionals across the UK.

Duration:

  • MSc (MedSci): 12 months full-time or 24 months part-time.
  • PgDip: 24 to 48 months part-time.

Location: Gilmorehill Campus, Glasgow.

Start Date: September.

Accreditation

The program is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) Division of Neuropsychology and fulfills the knowledge component required for the Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QiCN).

Curriculum

The program comprises eight courses delivered in two-week teaching blocks, each covering two courses. Lectures are conducted by subject specialists, including clinical academics from the University and experts from across the UK and internationally.

  • Clinical Neuropsychology Practice
  • Context and Perspectives in Clinical Neuropsychology
  • Degenerative Conditions and Clinical Neuropsychology
  • Epilepsy, Seizure, and Sleep Disorders and Clinical Neuropsychology
  • Neurosciences for Clinical Neuropsychology
  • Paediatric Neurological Conditions and Clinical Neuropsychology
  • Professional Issues and Research Design in Clinical Neuropsychology
  • Stroke and Clinical Neuropsychology

MSc students are also required to complete a research project.

Career Prospects

Graduates are eligible for entry into the BPS Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists. Alumni have secured positions within the NHS, such as clinical psychologists, clinical teachers, neuropsychologists, and senior clinical psychologists.

MSc (MedSci):

  • UK Students: £11,250 (full-time); £1,250 per 20 credits (part-time).
  • International & EU Students: £29,700 (full-time).

PgDip:

  • UK Students: £7,500 (full-time); £1,250 per 20 credits (part-time).
  • International & EU Students: £19,800 (full-time).
